 Little Team That Could

From NASCAR.com Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007

The happiest bunch back in the garage area might have been the No. 08 E&M Motorsports crew. Well down the speed chart after Friday's practice, Joe Nemechek was able to pick up more than a second -- putting the Georgia-based single-car team in the show for the first time.
Nemechek's fans have contributed more than $2,000 to the effort -- and the team plans to run a "Nemechek Fans On Board" logo on the car Sunday.

FANS HAVE HIS BACK
Supporters Make Sure Nemechek Gets a Chance to Race Sunday

From The Ledger, Lakeland, Fla.  Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007

Big racing teams might rule the speedway, but it's still the race fan that controls many a driver's overall destiny. Lakeland native Joe Nemechek will start Sunday's Nextel Cup race with E&M Motorsports thanks in part to local fans who raised money to support their driving star.
So while most drivers have a giant logo of a big corporate sponsor on their hoods, Nemechek's hood this weekend will sport a big, diamond-shaped sign that says "Fans On Board."  Read more...

BROOKLYN,  Mich. (RaceWeekMedia.com) -- Joe Nemechek qualified the  08 "Fans on Board" Dodge in the 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway  for EM Motorsports Friday.

The car was fueled by  Nemechek fans who sent in money for the Fans On Board sponsorship. Fired, then hired and fired Up: Nemechek vows to turn heads at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (RaceWeekMedia.com) -- A week after being suddenly dumped from the 13 car by a pre-merger Ginn Racing, Joe Nemechek predicted vowed to "turn some heads" at Indy with his new ride -- EM Motorsports' 08 Dodge.
"I want to get in this race, because I think we can make a lot of people turn some heads," Nemechek said Thursday on ESPN's NASCAR Now.
Indy's Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend will be the debut of the 08 team, owned by John Carter of Toccoa, Georgia.  Carter previously owned the Nextel Cup Series 37 car.
"I'm looking forward to this weekend. We have a good thing going with EM Motorports," Nemechek said Thursday on ESPN's NASCAR Now. "You know, they don't call me 'Front Row Joe' for not being able to qualify, so we're going to get in the show."
Asked about his chances with to get the "go or no go" car into the field, Nemechek was optimistic.
"Well, I think they're pretty good," he said. "This is a track that I normally qualify good.  I've been on the outside pole here."

Boris Said Fills in for Andretti in All Star Open

Boris Said has signed on to steer the #37 Huddle House Dodge in NASCAR's Nextel All Star Open Saturday May 19 in Charlotte, as regular driver John Andretti is on the track working to qualify for the Indy 500.  Watch for more big news regarding this coming soon!  Attention Said Heads: Vote as many times as you can to get Boris into the All Star Challenge!

Andretti Joins the 37 team in 2007

John Andretti turned in a great effort at California Speedway, qualifying the 37 Dodge for the Auto Club 500 and then driving it to near the head of the pack before his battery failed.  Although Andretti finished 34th, he and the 37 car -- the same one driven by Bill Elliott two weeks earlier in Daytona's Bud Shootout -- performed wonderfully.

The graph below charts his position.

An announcement should come soon from car owner John Carter about the driver assignments for future races, but it is set that Andretti will drive 37 in Las Vegas on March 11 and Elliott will be in the car for Atlanta on March 18.

Camping World -- Andretti's Busch sponsor -- joined as primary sponsor for the California race.  An announcement should also be made soon about future sponsorships for the car.

The 37 team welcomes the passionate Andretti fans to the effort.
